7 Gates: The Path to Zamolxes is a match-3 game with a historical theme. It tells the story of a hidden treasure from the times of the Roman conquest of Dacia. This serves as a pretext for the whole game and provides a final objective - discovering the treasure by winning all the games.
It has an elegant graphical design recreating the historical times depicted in the story. As in any other game of this type, the goal is to clear the whole board by matching three or more similar jewels. Some stones are frozen and cannot be moved, so you will need to find matches for it before you can clear the tile. Equally, other jewels are chained to their tiles and cannot be moved either. In addition, you should also complete other goals, such as clearing a given number of jewels of a definite color. When you clear the whole board, an amulet piece will spawn. By bringing the piece to the bottom of the board, you can complete the level. Learning to play the game is easy and becomes even less complicated when you have played similar games before. In addition, the game has a tutorial to help you learn the rules.
In general, after such a nice presentation, I was disappointed to find just another match-three game. The game is accompanied by a nice music that matches the theme (but who can tell what the old Dacian music sounded like?). The sound effects are rather modest. In case you prefer to listen to your favorite music while you play, you can lower the sound volume or even turn it off.
- The rules of the game are easy to learn
- The music is nice
- The graphics are beautiful
- The story is interesting
- It has an unoriginal gameplay
